First look at new Austin Grill coming to Loudoun County

We’ve got new info about the upcoming Austin Grill restaurant planned for Loudoun County – including artist renderings of the space they are building and details about the menu.

Regular readers may recall when The Burn first reported on the plans back in September to turn Sterling’s Velocity Wings restaurant into a new Austin Grill.

Thompson Restaurants will close its Velocity Wings restaurant in the Great Falls Plaza this weekend. Sunday will be its last day in business at that location.

The company will then take the month of November to give the space a makeover. They hope to open their resurrected Austin Grill concept around the start of December.

We say resurrected because Austin Grill is a brand that Thompson has owned for years, but it has been defunct since the last location closed several years ago. Now, it’s being reborn.

The new Austin Grill will still specialize in Tex-Mex cuisine, but it will offer a new look and a fresh menu.

We’re told diners can expect dishes such as Tex-Mex egg rolls, tacos and fajitas, smoked brisket nachos, and the brand’s much-loved BBQ grilled wings.

The patio will be turned into a “margarita garden” and the bar at Austin Grill will have a large selection of mezcal and tequilas and a full cocktail menu.

We’ll keep you posted on the progress and when an opening date is announced.
