A few weeks ago, we told readers that the new American Kolache bakery in Loudoun was getting ready to open – and now we have the official date.
The owners of the local store, Alex and Jing Stimpson, tell us they are planning on starting their soft opening on Sunday, November 2.
Ever since The Burn broke the news that American Kolache was coming to the Cameron Chase Village Center in Ashburn, there has been a lot of interest in this particular restaurant.
Kolaches are not super common on area menus. The yeast dough bun filled with savory or sweet fillings originates in Eastern Europe and is popular in states such as Texas and Missouri.
The new bakery has partnered with Cafe Kreyol as its local coffee roaster. Cafe Kreyol is a Manassas-based coffee brand that uses organic coffee beans from Haiti in order to help support that impoverished country.

The American Kolache brand – which is based in the St. Louis area – is now expanding around the country and opening new markets to kolaches.
According to the company’s website, the Ashburn store will be the first east coast location for the brand.
