Loudoun’s Roots 657 Cafe announces it is closing its doors

Sad news to report this afternoon as the Roots 657 Cafe & Local Market in rural Loudoun County has announced it is closing its doors next month.

“After nearly a decade of serving Loudoun County and being a proud part of the Lucketts community, we want to share some important news — ROOTS 657 will serve its last guests on Sunday, December 14th, and we will officially close our doors on Monday, December 15th,” the post to social media read.

The announcement goes on to say that the Roots team is selling the restaurant, but it doesn’t say to whom or what type of establishment might be coming next.

Roots 657 – located at the intersection of Highway 15 and Spinks Ferry Road – is a country market with artisan and often local versions of your supermarket staples. The onsite restaurant features a diverse menu with dishes such as brisket sandwiches, cheeseburgers, fries, pies, and more.

The Roots cafe and store will remain open through December 14. The owners have announced they will still continue to offer their existing catering and holiday meal prep services going forward.

“From the bottom of our hearts — thank you for 10 extraordinary years of memories, support, and friendship,” the message ends. “This isn’t goodbye, it’s simply ‘see you soon.'”
