The new Wonder food hall-style restaurant is officially open for business in Reston. As we’ve reported, the grand opening is this afternoon – Thursday, October 30 – but truth be told, they started quietly serving customers on Monday.
Wonder is a fast-growing brand that plays off the “ghost kitchen” concept – dishes from multiple different restaurants all being prepared in a single kitchen.
The Burn popped over to check out the new Wonder – located in the Plaza America shopping center – and we counted at least two dozen different food concepts available to order from – more than had originally been named.
This includes Mexican food, chicken sandwiches, pastas, smash burgers, barbecue, and more.

The public space is large. Half of it is a small dining room area. The other side is just wide open – where people waiting to order or pick-up their food can congregate. The Wonder concept is primarily focused on carry out and delivery.
If you are ordering onsite, there are three kiosks to place your order. If you have ordered previously on the Wonder app, there are shelves where you will find your food when it is ready.

We tried a burger from Burger Baby and some chicken tenders from Streetbird. It took about 15 minutes for the food to be ready, so we can see the benefit of ordering ahead on an app and then timing your pickup.
Wonder is in nine states plus DC. There are three locations in Northern Virginia including Reston. And as The Burn exclusively reported earlier this month – another Wonder is in the works for Leesburg.
