Fans of the warm, pillowy meat and cheese pockets known as empanadas will have a new stop soon. The upcoming Empanadas de Mendoza restaurant has announced its opening date.
The big day is Saturday, December 6. The new restaurant – which will focus on delivery and carryout – is located in the North Point Village Center off Reston Parkway.
As regular readers know, Mendoza is taking over the small space previously occupied by a Mochinut shop.
The brand – which is best known for its empanada food truck that travels around to community events – is going into their first traditional retail shopping center location.
Menu favorites include empanadas such as Spicy Beef, Honey BBQ Pork, Spinach Ricotta, and Three Cheese. The Empanadas de Mendoza menu also has sandwiches, sides, and desserts.
The grand opening starts at 11 a.m. on December 6 and the first 100 guests will get a free empanada and a free churro.
