A new fast-casual Indian restaurant has officially opened its doors in the South Riding area. It’s called Desi District.
As The Burn first reported last month, Desi District has take a small space in the Gum Spring Village Center off Route 50.
The restaurant started its soft opening this week and will be ramping up and adding additional menu items in the coming days.
The offerings include vegetarian and non-vegetarian appetizers, mandis and biryanis, curries, burgers, and more.

There are more than a dozen Desi District locations so far in Texas, Georgia, and North Carolina. The South Riding store is the first one in Virginia.
Some Desi Districts also have a small market component. However, the South Riding location is a restaurant only with a nice size dining room.
The owners tell us they are already looking for additional locations for future Desi Districts.
