Region’s largest indoor art festival returns December 12-14

The largest indoor art festival in the region – the Capital Art & Craft Festival – returns to Northern Virginia December 12-14, with more than 315 juried artisans taking over two Dulles Expo Center halls.

This event marks the show’s last appearance at Dulles Expo Center before that facility closes at the end of December. Judy Spargo, the festival’s director, said the event will be moving to a new Northern Virginia venue in the fall of 2026.

The Capital Art & Craft Festival will feature handcrafted, one-of-a-kind art in more than a dozen mediums including glass, jewelry, leather, paintings, prints, photography, pottery, wearable art and wood.

This winter show is known for being a treasure trove for holiday shopping with artists from throughout the country selling items that cannot be found in department stores.

Artisan Rob Mock of Triple C Woodworking – a Loudoun County native – will be showcasing his wood designs at the show.

“I have been woodworking for 27 years, teaching woodcarving for nearly 17 years,” Mock said. “Woodworking has always been my enjoyment, so upon retirement from running a music store for 35 years, I began doing my woodworking as ‘passion job.’ I do six to eight shows a year and spend the rest of my time in my woodshop or with my wife and dogs.”
