We finally have an update on the proposed timeline for the new Shake Shack coming to Loudoun County.
According to signage at the construction site, the target is sometime this coming summer.
As regular readers know, the former McDonald’s building at the site at the Cascades Marketplace in Sterling was torn down earlier this year.
Ever since, work crews have been clearing the land, putting in new underground utilities, and pouring a new parking lot, drive-thru lanes, and berms.
And yes, we said drive-thru lanes. The planned Shake Shack will be part of a growing effort by the brand to add drive-thru lanes to more of its locations.
So far, the actual Shake Shack building site is mostly just piles of dirt right now. But passers-by can expect to see that change in the coming weeks as more progress is made.
