Ashburn’s Belly Rubs closing its doors this week

After 13 years in business, a pet grooming studio and its neighboring pet supplies store will be closing down for good this week. We’re talking about Belly Rubs in Ashburn.

Belly Rubs is located in the Ashburn Farm Market Center shopping plaza.

“After much reflection, I’ve made the difficult decision that as our lease comes to an end, it’s time for me to move back home to be closer to my parents, who now need me more and more each day,” wrote owner Theresa Hogge (pictured above) in a message to customers.

“Because of this, Belly Rubs Biscuit Bar & Spa will permanently close our Loudoun County location at the end of the day on December 23, 2025,” it continued.

The grooming business actually dates back to 2008. The storefront in Ashburn Farm came along a few years later.

Then in 2023 – when the Loyal Companion pet supply store closed next door – Belly Rubs took over the space and expanded into retail offerings.

The departure of Belly Rubs will leave a vacant 2,800 s.f. space in the center that is otherwise fully leased at the moment. No word yet what business might move in next.
