The closing of The Restaurant at Potowmack Farm earlier this year was a blow to the Loudoun County dining scene.
The popular restaurant – which shut its doors in August – served elevated dishes prepared with local ingredients to eager foodies looking for something different and daring in the area.
Now comes the exciting news that a new restaurant is taking over the former Restaurant at Patowmack Farm space – and it sounds like it will be offering a unique menu as well.
The restaurant will be called Foraged and is expected to open sometime in early 2026. The news was first reported by our friends at the Loudoun Times-Mirror.
Foraged – or foraged. in lowercase letters with a period as the restaurant’s team is apparently spelling it – is the brainchild of Chef Chris Amendola, a James Beard-nominated chef who was recently featured in a short PBS documentary.
Amendola already operates a Foraged location in Baltimore and now he is bringing his kitchen artistry to Loudoun County.
Amendola’s aim is “to create a dining experience which showcased his beliefs that hyperseasonality, sustainable farming practices, and support for local businesses are not only good for the world, but good for your taste buds as well,” according to the restaurant’s website.
Due to the a focus on local ingredients and the ever-changing growing seasons of produce, the offerings at Foraged are always in flux as new dishes are added weekly to its tasting menu.
You can see a recent example of a Foraged menu below.
Foraged’s address will be 42461 Lovettsville Road. That’s in northern Loudoun near the Highway 15 bridge that crosses over to Maryland.
