Just as The Burn expected, the Qdoba Mexican Eats restaurant in Herndon has closed its doors permanently.
A month ago, we reported that a closure was likely for the restaurant located in the Worldgate Plaza.
The reason – the landlord had posted online that a new restaurant was moving into the Qdoba space. That’s usually a pretty good clue.
Now, the doors are locked up, the sign on the facade is gone, and a note on the front window directs diners to the Manassas Qdoba on Liberia Avenue (even though there is another Qdoba over in Ashburn).

The message bills it as a “relocation,” but we’re not sure what that means. The Qdoba on Liberia Avenue has been there for years.
Meanwhile, the 2,300 s.f. former Qdoba space in Herndon is set to become a new restaurant called Charcoal Chicken.
