Well, mystery solved. Back in November, The Burn reported that a new restaurant called Dr. T Shawarma & Burger was in the works for an Ashburn shopping center – but we didn’t know exactly where.
Well, now we do.
It turns out that the Matsu Poke Sushi restaurant at the Cameron Chase Village Center has closed its doors – and Dr. T is taking its place.
A temporary sign is up on the window of the space announcing the upcoming shawarma and burger joint, but it doesn’t appear that any work has been done yet.
It’s still filled with the now-shuttered Matsu Poke decor and fixtures inside.
Matsu Poke, which opened in the summer of 2024, was a fast-casual style restaurant specializing in sushi and bowls.
It’s parent restaurant – the full-service Matsutake Sushi & Sake Bar – has locations in Reston and at Reagan International.
