The Picklr aiming for a spring opening in Loudoun County

We’ve got new information today about The Picklr – a huge new pickleball facility coming to Loudoun County.

Back in early December, we broke the news that The Picklr was taking a 30,000 s.f. space at the Cascades Marketplace shopping center in Sterling.

It’s going into the space that used to be a Marshall’s department store.

Now, we got additional details on The Picklr’s plans, including that the new facility is scheduled to open this coming spring.

The venue will feature 10 pickleball courts, including two championship-sized courts. There will also be full pro shop and a private event space.

“Bringing The Picklr to Sterling is about giving the community a place that truly puts players first,” said Zac Baumbach, owner and operator of The Picklr Sterling, in a press release. “We’re building a best-in-class indoor pickleball club with professional-grade courts, a year-round playing environment, and programming that welcomes everyone.”

The facility will also host The Picklr Academy offering both adult and junior instructional programs.

The Picklr touts that it has some 500 locations open or in the works across the country. Locally, the Sterling Picklr will be the first one in Northern Virginia.
