Update on MidnighTreats coming to Reston Town Center

The owners of the MidnighTreats cookie shop headed to the Reston Town Center have provided an update on their plans.

After an unexpected delay, they say they are roughly two months out from opening – so that would be sometime in March if all goes smoothly.

As The Burn reported way back in December 2024, MidnighTreats – which specializes in 100 percent plant based cookies – was taking over a small space right by the ice rink at Reston Town Center.

And last summer, we reported that work had started. Unfortunately, that’s when things ground to a halt.

It was discovered that a portion of the space hadn’t been built to code originally, so the floor literally had to be torn up and new architectural drawings submitted and new permits requested. That’s per the owner and a recent post to social media.

Now, the updated permits have been issued and work is underway again.

The future MidnigTreats spot at the Reston Town Center.

MidnighTreats currently has three locations – Alexandria, Arlington, and College Park, Maryland. They also had a previous spot in Reston, but that location was closed in anticipation of the move to the Reston Town Center.

Some of the cookies on the current lineup include Coconut Caramel, Cinnamon Brown Sugar Pop-Tart, and a funfetti-type cookie called the Birthday Bash.

We’ll keep an eye on the progress at the new MidnighTreats and report back when the opening is approaching.
