Well, that didn’t take long. It was just last week that The Burn reported on the closing of the Mod Pizza location in Ashburn. Now, it looks like that space has a new tenant.
According to paperwork filed with Loudoun County, the former Mod Pizza unit at the Belmont Chase shopping center will become a new Panda Express restaurant.
Panda Express is a fast-casual Chinese restaurant chain with more than 2,400 locations, mostly in the United States and Asia.
Locally, there are several Panda Express restaurants around Northern Virginia, including one in Leesburg.
Details on the plans for the new restaurant are still scarce – we know it will have roughly 56 seats in the dining room.
But as far as an even rough target for opening – we will have to wait until the Panda Express team is further along in the process.
Meanwhile, the space that was formerly the Baker’s Crust restaurant is also still vacant at Belmont Chase. No word yet what new business might move in there.
