Herndon’s Weird Brothers Coffee looking to grow regionally

Regular readers know that The Burn always enjoys seeing local brands expanding – and now comes word that Weird Brothers Coffee is looking to grow.

The business — which got its start in Herndon and is based there — has two locations in that community, plus one at the Village at Leesburg in Loudoun County.

Now, the brand is seeking to franchise the concept and find new operators to open additional locations around Virginia and Maryland.

“Consumers are thirsty for unique, independent specialty coffee with a focus on positive and personable experiences,” said Paul Olsen of the move to franchise. “Weird Brothers Coffee is perfectly positioned to fill this void and fulfill local coffee community desires.”

Olsen founded Weird Brothers with his own brother Kenny. Sadly, Kenny passed away shortly after the coffee roaster first opened, but Paul has continued to operate and grow the company.

While the focus is on Virginia and Maryland initially, the franchise footprint could grow in the future if sales are successful.
