The end is nigh for two longtime southern Loudoun County restaurants, and now we have a sneak peek at what’s coming in to replace one of them.

We are – of course – talking about the looming closure of the Velocity Wings restaurant and the Social House restaurant at the East Gate Marketplace shopping center.
As The Burn first reported back in January, the Velocity Wings will become a Makers Union gastropub and the Social House will become a Milk & Honey Southern Inspired Kitchen.
They are all part of the Thompson Restaurants family of brands.
Now, we’ve been told that both Velocity Wings and Social House will close next week, on Monday February 16 to begin the conversion into the two new restaurants.
The images with this story are artist renderings of what the new Makers Union should look like. We’re hoping to get some renderings of the new Milk & Honey as well.

The opening dates for the new restaurants haven’t been set yet, but we’re told it should happen six to eight weeks after the closing date next week.
So that would be roughly sometime in early April. Stay tuned and we’ll see if this timeline holds.
