It looks like the good times are over for Monkey Joe’s, a kids’ bounce house activity center in Sterling. Joe’s has apparently closed permanently.
We started getting messages from parents that the doors were locked up at the facility located at 23521 Overland Drive. Some voiced disappointment that they had placed deposits on upcoming parties.
A sign on the front door says “No Trespassing” and “Lease is in default and tenant barred from entry.”
We’ve checked and both the Facebook page and the Google listing for the Sterling location are marked “Permanently Closed.”

Meanwhile, on the national Monkey Joe’s website, there are no stores listed in Virginia. It shows seven other locations open in five states.
A “For Lease” sign on the front window says that the 12,500 s.f. space is available as “turn key children’s amusement center” – turn key meaning it’s got almost everything it needs for someone else to re-open it quickly.
There is precedent for this. Longtime readers may recall that back in 2019, Monkey Joe’s closed for several months before reopening under new management.
We’ll keep an eye on it and see if anything similar comes to pass this time.
