It’s been nearly three years since The Burn first broke the news about plans for a new Taco Bell in Sterling. A year later – in 2024 – we got the news officially confirmed.
Now fast-forward to 2026 and we have another update – but folks eager to make a run for the border aren’t going to love it.
The new Taco Bell is aiming for a Spring 2027 opening — so at least a year still to go.
That’s according to signage installed on the front of a former bank building in the Cedar Lake Plaza off Route 7.
That spot is the future site of the Taco Bell. The building will likely be torn down and a new, modern Taco Bell built in its place.
At least it’s official that it’s coming and we have a rough timeline, so area neighbors (and The Burn) can stop guessing and wondering. We’ll keep you posted on any updates.
