Fans of German doner kebabs, we’ve got good news for you. A new restaurant specializing in this popular street food is on its way to Loudoun County.
Back in January, The Burn told readers about Hakiki – a new kabob restaurant coming to Loudoun County. But at the time, we didn’t have many details. Now, more information is starting to come out.
Hakiki is coming to the South Riding Market Square shopping center just off Loudoun County Parkway south of Route 50. It’s taking over the former China Wok restaurant space.
We knew kabobs were on the menu, but we didn’t know they would be the German doner style.
According to online foodie sites, the German doner kebab became popular in Berlin in the 1970s. It features roasted meats such as chicken, lamb, or veal, shaved thing and served in a portable format such as pita bread or a flatbread.
Doner kebabs are usually topped with fresh veggies like cabbage, onions and tomatoes and the finished up with yogurt, garlic or other sauces.

The full Hakiki menu hasn’t been unveiled yet, but French fries are often another staple at a German doner kebab restaurant.
We stopped by and work is underway inside the Hakiki space, but an official opening date hasn’t been announced yet.
Right now, the latest word from the folks behind the new kabob spot is that they are aiming for an April opening. Stay tuned!
