Construction work has started on a new bagel shop coming to Loudoun County – and the sign has been installed over the front door.
We’re talking about Torus Bagels which is headed to the Ashburn Village Shopping Center in Ashburn.
As we reported last October, Torus Bagels is the brainchild of Edward Wang – a Stone Bridge High School graduate who went on to play football with the Buffalo Bills.
Wang has taken over the former Jimmy John’s sub sandwich shop and is turning that into his first bagel shop.
Right now, the full line-up of menu items is still being sussed out. However, Wang says they will have a sausage, egg and cheese bagel with a spicy sauce, an avocado toast with egg and white cheddar cheese, and a lox bagel sandwich.
There will also be a secret recipe cheddar bacon jalapeño cream cheese that they’ve been working to perfect, as seen in the image at the top of this story.
Types of bagels will include poppy seed, garlic, salt, and everything – but that list will grow as well.
No official date for opening has been set yet, but Wang and his team are targeting July if all goes smoothly.
