Staples Grocery Company coming to Loudoun County

Here is something fun and interesting – a new gourmet market and restaurant is in the works for Loudoun County.

It will be called the Staples Grocery Company and it’s setting up shop at 42301 Spinks Ferry Road in the Lucketts area.

Locals may recognize that address as the former home of Roots 657 – which was also a market and restaurant. That establishment closed late last year.

“In the mornings, you will see the baked goods on the counter, hear the espresso machine, and smell the omelets and waffles being prepared in the kitchen,” the Staples team posted to social media. “At lunchtime, freshly made sandwiches, salads and soups and are featured, along with hamburgers and other hot items.”

“As evening approaches, the feel changes,”  they continue. “You can pick up dinner for the family, choose a bottle from the wine shop, and have a glass of wine or an old-fashioned at the bar while you wait. If you’d rather stay with us, have a seat in the dining room and enjoy a full menu from our kitchen.”

As the post describes, there will be dine in, carry out, and grab-and-go options.

Since Staples will also be a market, they will have many of the “staples” locals might be seeking and not want to drive into Leesburg for – like when you’re missing a stick of butter.

Staples Grocery apparently dates back to 1892 when MB Staples opened a grocery store in Manchester, Virginia near Richmond.

Now a dozen members of the Staples family live in the Lucketts area and they are bringing their ancestor’s concept to life here.

No opening date has been announced yet, but it sounds like it could be any time now. We’ve got messages in to folks at Staples for more details.
