Some exciting news today from the folks at GVINO Wine Bar in downtown Leesburg. They are expanding their space – adding a new speakeasy-style bar that will also double as a gelato bar during the day.
GVINO is located at 108 South Street SE in the town’s Market Station commercial center.
A year ago – what was initially a wine shop expanded into a full-fledged restaurant and bar offering bruschettas, cheeses and charcuterie, pinsas, and even dishes such as Duck Leg Confit and Branzino del Mediterraneo.
Now the owner – Giacomo Galimberti – tells The Burn that they will be expanding again, adding an adjacent 500 s.f.
The new space will be called the Gelato Bar by GVINO and will serve several functions.
During the day, it will be a family-friendly space offering wine, cocktails, charcuterie and other light fare – plus the addition of gourmet gelato.
“The primary addition is our gelato, which is imported from Italy and made using only three high-quality ingredients, making it a perfect option for both children and adults,” Galimberti said. “My vision is to provide a space where families can enjoy premium food and drinks together.”
This is noteworthy because the main GVINO restaurant space is for adults only.
In the evenings, the Gelato Bar area will be a cozy speakeasy bar that functions as an extension of the main GVINO space, one that can also be used for private events.
Right now, the GVINO team says they are aiming for a mid-June opening of the Gelato Bar by GVINO if all goes smoothly.
