Exclusive: Huey Magoo’s planning first Virginia location in Herndon

A large southern chicken restaurant brand has locked in its first Virginia location – and it’s right here in the area.

The Burn has exclusively learned that Huey Magoo’s Chicken Tenders is working on its first Northern Virginia store in Herndon.

The company behind it – LSRD Hospitality LLC – is made up of four area residents. They have signed a lease for a roughly 2,100 s.f. space at the Arrowbrook Centre just south of 267 off Centreville Road.

That’s the same center with the Paris Baguette restaurant, the Peter Chang restaurant, and the new Super Kyuramen restaurant.

Parclette Realty, which handles leasing for Arrowbrook and negotiated the Huey Magoo deal, says the center is now fully leased.

Huey Magoo’s got its start in Orlando, Florida back in 2004. It has since grown to more than 70 locations in multiple states, primarily in the eastern half of the country.

Like other similar concepts such as Raising Cane’s and Zaxby’s – the menu at Huey Magoo’s is definitely chicken centric – from their signature chicken tenders, to their chicken bites and their chicken sandwiches.

The brand calls its product “The Filet Mignon of Chicken.”

The menu also features salads plus sides such as crinkle cut fries and fresh-cut chips. You can see more of the Huey Magoo’s menu here.

The partners in LSRD hope the new Herndon location will be the first of several Huey Magoo’s restaurants they plan to bring to the area. They are looking at additional locations in Loudoun, Fairfax, and surrounding areas.

The deal in Herndon is brand new – so no official opening date yet, but right now they expect to be ready to open sometime this coming fall.
