All good things must come to an end, or so the expression goes. And in that vein, we now have the final date of operations for Bilstad’s Beignets in Ashburn.
Readers will recall that back in March, Bilstad’s announced it would be ceasing operations and closing its Ashburn Road cafe soon – but a final date wasn’t solidified at the time.
Now it is. Bilstad’s last day open will be Sunday, May 3. But with the sad news comes some good news as well.
“The end of our chapter but an exciting new one begins,” the Bilstads posted on social media. “As fate would have it, one of our – and Loudoun’s – favorite bakers was looking for a space. Kathleen Faliske will be taking over our location with her amazing talents.”
Kathleen Faliskie is an executive pastry chef here in Northern Virginian who makes cakes and desserts for special occasions.
The space Faliskie will move into is located at 20937 Ashburn Road, Suite 150. No word when Faliskie’s new bake shop will open – so stay tuned.
In the meanwhile, you have this weekend and next weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) to get the very last beignets ever from Bilstad’s.
