(Updated) After years of waiting, it looks like the Historic Ashburn Mill building on Ashburn Road has a new retail tenant – an apparent tea and coffee shop.
Banners have been hung on the century old building that read “Coming Soon. Chai Caafi.”
The Chai Caafi signs tout that it will be a “Brews & Bites Cafe.”
Based on the location of the signs, it appears that Chai Caafi will be taking a space in the section of the old mill closest to the Carolina Brothers BBQ restaurant next door.
A mock up of the future cafe appears on the cafe’s nascent social media.
“We plan to provide a family-friendly environment with comfortable couches and chairs, including students and young professionals,” one of the owners told The Burn. “We will be introducing South Asian flavored coffees, lattes, and shakes along with regular items.”
Right now, the target for opening is late May or early June.
