A huge new entertainment venue with bowling, video games, bumper cars, laser tag and more is getting ready to open in Loudoun County and The Burn got a sneak preview tour of the facility.
We’re, of course, talking about Pinstack which is in the final phases of construction at the Kincora center off Russell Branch Parkway in between Ashburn and Sterling.
The Burn was the first media outlet to break the news about Pinstack back in 2024. Now, the project is nearing completion.
Our tour of the 57,000 s.f. space started out with a stop at the large restaurant on the first floor. It includes a wrap-around bar and will offer 24 beers on top – both local and national brands.
There is also a patio area with large windows that open to the outside for open air dining on nice days.
The menu for the Loudoun Pinstack is still being finalized, but it will definitely include some items the brand is famous for in its home state of Texas where it has seven locations.
This includes the KingPin pizza that is a full three feet wide, as well as the WTF Platter that comes loaded with wings, tenders, fries, onion rings, and more.
And then there are the Stacked Shakes – milkshakes overloaded with toppings and treats.
Turning from the restaurant, we toured the game floor which includes all kinds of video games from motorcycle racing to big game hunting and piloting jets.
There are also redemption games – the sort that kids love. All the points they earn are stored on a card and then they go shopping at the redemption gift shop when they’re ready.
As the name Pinstack implies, bowling is a big part of the business at the venue. There are eight full-sized lanes on the first floor and an additional 20 full-sized lanes on the second floor.
Other fun features on the first floor include bumper cars, a large laser tag arena, and a huge 37-foot-tall rock climbing wall.
Stretching up into the sky, there is a ropes course that has participants hooking into a harness and then climbing up high over the gaming floor where they navigate a series of obstacles including a short but terrifying-looking zip line.
Up on the second floor at Pinstack, in addition to the bowling lanes, there is another large bar and dining area, some old school video games and pinball machines, a VIP area, private party rooms, and a huge outdoor patio with a couple of ping pong tables.
Besides the traditional customer base of families, a big part of Pinstack’s business model is acting as a venue for businesses to hold off site meetings, client events, staff get-togethers, and more. They have all the seating, lecterns, AV equipment, and food service options in place.
Currently, the final touches are being put on the space. Last minute pieces of equipment are arriving. The exterior is being landscaped. The kitchens are being set up. And video games are getting their final programming and testing.
When fulling running, Pinstack will employ at least 150 people.
An official opening date hasn’t been set yet, but the target is early to mid June if all goes smoothly. Stay tuned to The Burn for details on Pinstack’s grand opening events.
