7 Brew Coffee planning expansion into NoVa, new Loudoun location

A new double drive-thru coffee shop is in the works for Loudoun County – and it could be the first outpost in Northern Virginia for this major national brand.

The Burn has learned that 7 Brew Coffee is considering a spot at the Dulles Town Crossing retail center in Sterling.

That’s the huge center off Atlantic Boulevard with a Lowe’s Home Improvement store, a Walmart, and a Sam’s Club.

The proposed 7 Brew would be built on a parcel of land that is currently a parking lot just to the north of the Chick-fil-A restaurant.

7 Brew originally got its start in 2017 and has expanded rapidly with more than 760 locations across the country.

Right now, there are 14 7 Brew Coffee locations in Virginia – all down south. Plans are afoot for one in Fredericksburg, but if the Sterling plans proceed, Loudoun could be the first one in Northern Virginia proper.

The model for the store calls for two drive-thru lanes only – no inside nor outside seating.

Baristas greet customers as their cars pull into the drive-thru and take their order. The beverages are then delivered right to the cars before they exit the drive-thru.

The menu at 7 Brew is also unique in that there are no food items – drinks only. This includes coffee, tea, Italian sodas, smoothies, shakes, energy drinks, and hot chocolate.

Right now, the plans for the 7 Brew in Sterling are still in the preliminary phase. They are trying to see if their “stand” – as they call their shops – will be allowed at the Dulles Town Crossing spot per county regulations.

If the deal goes through, 7 Brew estimates that once they break ground on the stand, it should be up and running in four to five months.

That speedy timetable is helped by the fact that 7 Brew uses pre-fab buildings that are built offsite and trucked in to be installed.
