Many passers-by on Loudoun County Parkway have noticed the construction going on near the northwest corner of the intersection with Ryan Road.
That’s where a new gas station and convenience store is being built behind the defunct Harris Teeter grocery store that closed back in 2020.
We’ve learned the gas station is slated to be a Sunoco station. There’s also supposed to be a small car wash there too.
However, it’s the convenience store that is being built that will offer something new and a little unique.
The store will have a restaurant inside called the Midway Cafe – a quick service restaurant that will include seating for diners.
The name Midway Cafe may ring a bell for some readers. That’s because there is already a Midway Cafe in Loudoun – located inside the massive XCAL Shooting Sports and Fitness facility on Russell Branch Parkway in Ashburn.
The cafe at XCAL serves a menu that includes flatbreads, burgers, sandwiches, grain bowls, smoothies, salads, and more. You can see more about the menu here.
We’re told the menus at the two Midway Cafe locations will be similar, but not identical because the new location will have a smaller kitchen.
It won’t surprise you to learn that the same developers behind XCAL are also behind the new gas station and convenience store.
It’s also the same team that is also working on the upcoming XAVO Motor Club that will be built next door to XCAL.

So to recap – a gas station and convenience store are coming to a spot off LoCo Parkway near Ryan Road. It will be a Sunoco gas station and the c-store will have an onsite restaurant called Midway Cafe – a second location of the cafe already operating at XCAL.
No word yet when the new station and store will be complete and ready to open, but as you can see in the photo at the top, the walls have already gone up on the building.
