New DTC Expo Center moving forward in Loudoun

The plans for a new expo center at the Dulles Town Center shopping mall in Sterling are moving forward full speed ahead.

According to the owner of the DTC, all the permits have been secured and construction work on the space is underway. It will be called the DTC Expo Center.

Regular readers will recall that back in November we reported on plans to turn the former Lord & Taylor department store space into a new expo center and event hall.

The move was precipitated by the closure of the Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly. That space was recently reopened as a new IKEA store.

Many major events that come to Northern Virginia annually were left without a home after the Chantilly venue closed.

The team at the Dulles Town Center saw an opportunity to provide a new home to events such as hobby shows, trade shows, gun shows, art and craft events, conferences, festivals, and more.

The center will be approximately 120,000 s.f. of space spread out over two levels.

Right now, the plans call for the new DTC Expo Center to open sometime in late October or early November.
