A small bagel shop brand is moving into Loudoun County in a big way. It now has not one, but two new locations in the works.
The Burn has learned that Bobby’s Bagel Cafe is planning a new store in the Loudoun Station development in Ashburn. That’s by the Ashburn Metro station off Shellhorn Road.
Bobby’s will be going into the former Kung Fu Tea space.
There is already a Bobby’s getting ready to open soon in Sterling. As we reported last October, the burgeoning chain has taken over an end unit at the Countryside Marketplace shopping center off Route 7.
Last we checked, work appeared nearly finished on that location and we’ve been waiting for an opening date to be announced.
Now comes word that a second location – this time in Ashburn – is in the works.
Regular readers may recall that at one point – the former Kung Fu Tea space was supposed to become a Greenheart Juice Shop.
A Greenheart sign is even visible inside the vacant space at Loudoun Station.
However, as we reported last summer, the Greenheart brand ran into a series of challenges and closed its five locations. The planned Ashburn outlet never opened.
Now Bobby’s – which already has stores in Oakton and Herndon – has swooped in and leased the space. We’ll keep you posted on the new bagel shop’s progress.
