It was three years ago this month that The Burn first reported on plans for Loudoun County’s first Shake Shack restaurant – and at long last, the burger and milkshake joint has arrived.
Today, the restaurant offered a special sneak preview of the new location in Sterling ahead of the grand opening scheduled for tomorrow, Wednesday, August 12.
The Burn was there and has a first look inside the new burger joint, which includes a drive-thru lane – something not always seen at Shake Shack locations.
Shake Shack is opening in the Cascades Marketplace shopping center near the intersection of Cascades Parkway and Palisades Parkway.
As longtime area residents know, an old McDonald’s building on the property was torn down and an entirely new structure for the Shake Shack was constructed in its place.
Shake Shack got its start back in 2001 – believe it or not as a hot dog cart in a park – in New York City. It has grown and grown again and there are now more than 400 Shake Shacks globally.
