Despite multiple assurances that the Starbucks in the Dulles Town Center shopping mall is slated to return, we’re pretty doubtful that is happening.
This past spring, the Starbucks kiosk in the center court at the mall closed down. At the time, mall management said it was temporary while the kiosk was refurbished.
Fast forward to July, and the kiosk was still closed and there were no signs of work happening. However, the owner of the mall said Starbucks was still going to return.
Now it’s nearly September. Still no signs of any remodeling happening. And to top it off, the Starbucks Coffee sign has now been removed from the kiosk.
Plus, signs on the kiosk that said the closure was temporary are gone too.
Meanwhile, the location’s Google listing has been changed to permanently closed and the Starbucks is no longer listed on the company’s website.
Maybe Starbucks will return someday, but at this point, all signs are indicating the closure is for good.
With the Shotted coffee shop right upstairs at the mall’s food court, maybe that’s enough java for the joint.
