At one time or another, everyone probably wanted to be a Toys R Us kid – and now you might have your chance again. We’ve learned a new Toys R Us store is in the works for Loudoun County.
The store will reportedly be coming to a vacant space at the Leesburg Premium Outlets in Leesburg.
According to mall management, Toys R Us is going into Unit 1257. That’s a large space across from Old Navy on the mall directory.
The first Toys R Us store opened in 1957. Over the coming decades, the brand spread across the United States and generations of kids fondly recall shopping there. However, the tide eventually turned and in 2018, the final Toys R Us stores closed.
Since then, the brand name was sold to a new company that has started opening smaller toy stores. Many of them have been located inside Macy’s department stores. A handful of standalone stores have started popping up.
Outlet malls is one place where Toys R Us locations have been landing – and now it’s apparently Leesburg’s turn.
We reached out to a rep for the outlet mall, but they said they didn’t have any additional details to share at this time. So stay tuned.
