(Updated 9-2-26) Interesting news for fans of and students at the StageCoach Theatre Company in Ashburn. The theater company is moving to a new location and refocusing its business.
StageCoach is leaving its longtime location off Ashburn Road in Old Ashburn and will be making a move east into the Dulles Town Center shopping mall.
It will be taking a first-floor unit in the wing of the mall that used to lead to the now-closed Nordstrom department store.
With the transition, StageCoach will primarily focus on the interactive dinner theater component of the business.
Owner Jerri Wiseman explains: “We started as a traveling theatre company 15 years ago, performing in restaurants, wineries, historic properties, and other venues throughout Northern Virginia. Over the years, the Ashburn location allowed us to expand into traditional stage productions, theatre education, camps, and classes, but our murder mystery business has continued to grow significantly.”
“As part of this transition, we’ve also made the difficult decision to step away from our children’s theatre education programs,” Wiseman continued. “We’re incredibly proud of the community that grew around those programs and grateful to the students, families, and teaching artists who made them such an important part of StageCoach Theatre over the years. Private lessons in voice, acting, and audition preparation will continue, but we will no longer be offering our former schedule of children’s classes, camps, and stage productions.”
“The new space at Dulles Town Center is about 1,200 square feet and will serve a very different purpose from our Ashburn Road location. Rather than recreating the black box theater, it will be our home base for rehearsals, small private murder mystery parties and team-building events, while our larger public performances and corporate team-building continue at partner venues throughout Northern Virginia and beyond.”
